Because most flowers are grown outside of the US, the Urban Flower Center brings business back to local farmers and provides an interactive educational experience for the local community. Inspired by the modern adaptation of these ruins in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the innovation of hydroponics, the Urban Flower Center is designed around the idea of enrichment. Seeing as both the building and the flower industry are going through a renewal, this adaptation and growth can be seen throughout the spaces created by the flowering structures.
